On May 14th, Odegard celebrated its grand opening with flowing prosecco, delicious treats and, best of all, RugMark’s stunningly dramatic Faces of Freedom photo exhibit. The RugMark Foundation USA, a nonprofit dedicated to end exploitative child labor in the rug industry, made its West Coast debut of Faces of Freedom – a photography exhibition depicting illegal child labor in the handmade rug industry and RugMark’s innovative child-labor-free rug certification program designed to eradicate it."This exhibition is a poignant reminder of why we took an early stance against child labor in the rug industry. The photos and stories of children helped by RugMark’s educational programs should help connect our customers to the positive impact of their purchases," states Stephanie Odegard. "Not only is every Odegard carpet certified child-labor-free by RugMark, but also 1.75% from the sale of every carpet goes directly to the support of the organization’s programs," she adds.
